We have provided answers to some of the questions we are asked on a regular basis and hope it helps you to make the right decision when choosing your EPC provider and Home Inspection Company. I CAN GET EPC’S CHEAPER, IS IT THE SAME PRODUCT? The product should be the same because of standards set by the Government but the variation is in the way the survey is conducted. There is a trend by some energy assessors to generate income by taking commissions from other interested businesses and therefore offer epc's at reduced prices. Please be assured that we do not share information with other businesses and we do not use panels of unknown assessors. DO YOU WORK FOR PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS? Yes, many of our clients are private landlords, people selling their homes and homebuyers requiring a Building Survey. We adopt the same high standards for all our clients DO YOU MAKE YOUR OWN APPOINTMENTS WITH OUR CLIENTS? Yes, as soon as you instruct us we will contact your client and make arrangements for our visit at their earliest convenience, sometimes at weekends or evenings. If you are keyholders we will collect and return the keys to you. We are CRB checked and fully insured. WE USE A NATIONAL EPC PROVIDER, HOW DO WE KNOW WHOTHEY WILL SEND TO OUR CLIENTS HOME? You don’t, and that could be risky. National EPC providers use a panel of Domestic Energy Assessors who are prepared to cover their local area for a very reduced fee. This allows the provider to make a profit on top of the fee. We do not offer our services to national providers unless they agree our terms. WE NEED TO KNOW EXACTLY HOW MUCH IT WILL COST. Variations in property size, type and attributes which effect the data gathering for the epc are almost endless. To simplify our price structure we offer you a highly competitive single rate which we agree at the start of business. DO WE HAVE TO PAY EACH TIME WE INSTRUCT YOU? Not if you are an established business user. We prefer to send an invoice when the work is complete, that way all you have to do is phone or email with contact details for the epc and we will act straight away. For private individuals we collect payment at the time of our visit. We accept Cards, Cash or Cheques. HOW DO YOU SEND THE EPC? Generally we will send it as a PDF file to the email address you specify, or if you prefer we can send the epc retrieval code or even a printed copy. We can also send the epc rating chart for you to include in your property details. WHEN DO WE NEED TO ARRANGE A BUILDING CONDITION SURVEY?
